Hey!
Business awards might seem weird sometimes (like who cares who has the best booth at an oil and gas conference?) but they can be a really helpful tool to you as a freelancer.
I like to use them is to find prospects who are moving and shaking in my content world — but they’re honestly really good for ideas too.
Look at this winner from CMI on best topic-specific blog.
Out of hundreds of entries, they chose Carved in Blue…a blog about one specific kind of denim…and it’s interesting! (I just bought a dress made of Tencel and I honestly learned a few things.)
Marketing like this — that takes the seemingly boring and dedicates time and space while adding interest, can be inspiration for a client or two, or even for your own work.
So keep up with the winners in your world.
Megan
