Hey!
Welcome to week 4 of CEO Month: SWOT analysis!
This week could be pretty long because these days, everything seems like it’s a threat to our wellbeing.
But we’re going to keep things tight.
Yes, threats are everywhere, but when it comes to your freelance business, even in a pandemic, they’re probably more specific (and manageable) than you think.
Your Freelance Business Threats
Businesses around the world are suffering right now…but many are also thriving. What’s that mean?
For us as freelancers, it means that threats are real, but they’re likely pretty easy to figure out.
It also means that much of what was true before the pandemic is still true today.
That’s important to keep in mind right now when identifying our threats, because it’s not all doom and gloom. You’ll probably find that threats to your business are limited, especially compared to the opportunities we covered last week.
You’re probably looking at things like…
- Downward pressure on your rates from an increasingly globalized freelance landscape
- Decreased profitability in your target market/niche
- Unreliable Internet service
- The platform where you usually get work raising its rates
I’ll say that, considering what’s going on in the world right now, this quadrant deserves most of your attention. We all need to clean up our businesses so we can get through coming changes as smoothly as possible.
So if you want to look over your threats with other Black freelancers, let’s talk them out on the boards.
