Hey!
A couple years into freelancing I tried launching a sub-brand that focused just on case studies — built a separate website and everything. I was having fun with them and saw big names charging $1K per page, so after doing the math, I figured I’d give it a shot.
It…did not work for me.
Not because it’s impossible (it’s not), but because my differentiator — what makes me special as a content marketer — is knowing my industry, but also seeing the big picture. Writing great case studies is great, but people work with me because I get healthcare enterprise tech. (The case studies are a nice bonus.)
So should you specialize? Maybe, but the real question is whether you can get the results with that specialization that clients would want.
