A few years back I was working with a client on getting some research out on social media. We published it on LinkedIn and a few hours later we had 10 views.
“I just asked my daughter if we’re going viral!”
I chuckled and told her that doesn’t happen much with B2B content...but thinking back, those 10 clicks might not’ve been all that far off “viral” status.
It’s a hard truth of business content, but we just don’t put up engagement numbers in the 10s of thousands the way B2C does. People just act different as consumers.
We’re typically selling more expensive products to people who are making decisions from a different perspective.
So if the numbers on that blog or Instagram post look low, don’t feel bad. You’re probably doing better than you think.
