I’m talking admin here. If you’re spending a ton of time on project management, bookkeeping, marketing, general housekeeping and all that stuff…to the point it’s eating into time you’d rather be doing other things? Well, that’s a red flag.
The answer can go a lot of different ways, but usually falls under getting systems in place and finding the tools that best fit your business.
For example, early on in my freelance life, I noticed I was spending way too much time tracking and updating leads. The answer? A CRM that integrated with Gmail (Streak). Once I started using that, the work of entering info into Word docs and spreadsheets happened automatically. I was saving hours AND seeing better marketing results. (So the ~$10/month was beyond worth it).
