Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business — “self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey! Happy CEO month!
Since we’re rounding out October (on top of doing Income and Assessment), we’re going to be covering a few reasons this might be the season to refresh your
freelance strategy.
This week, we’re talking your clients.
If you’re a year or more into your freelance journey and getting clients still feels like pulling teeth, it might be time to refresh your strategic approach.
Is your customer acquisition strategy solid?
This is a tricky one since getting new clients can come down to everything from your niche to the social media platforms you’re using, but in general, there are a few questions you can ask yourself to figure out whether you need to make a change. (Especially if you’ve been at it for a while and have a feel for what’s going on out there.)
- Am I not finding prospects at all or are they just not converting? Could I simply need to try new nurturing methods?
- Am I focused where my prospects are spending time or where I like to spend time? (e.g. LinkedIn/email over Twitter/Facebook)
- Am I waiting on prospects to come to me instead of enforcing my standards and finding the best myself?
Walk through those, and if you’re looking to take a deeper dive, come by the Academy boards and let’s talk it out!
