It took me a while to realize how much freelance website colors matter. 

When I first started, I used a complimentary WooThemes WordPress theme and chose the least offensive color palette it had to offer (it was between neon green, purple, and dirt brown…I chose the brown.) It was hideous, but somehow I still got business.

It might be telling though that none of my clients at that time were directly in the healthcare sector since healthcare doesn’t do brown. We’re all about the greens and blues…I was probably sending a signal to potential healthcare clients that I was an outsider even though that was the furthest from the truth.
