If you’ve been paying attention online, you’ll have noticed that there are a few new companies supplying stock photos of Black people and people of color. (Here’s one, and another, and one more.)

I was ridiculously glad to see these sites growing and I can’t imagine how much work it’s taken. The first thing I thought though, is that a lot of these companies could likely use help in SEO, social, blogging, and marketing to the people and companies who’d use their services. Could you help them with that? Do you know someone who could?

Connect with them on social (in helpful, mindful ways…spamming is always a bad idea) pay attention to what they’re doing, and find out if your work could fit with what they do. Helping to build startups like this could be a solid notch in your portfolio and a strong alignment of your personal experience and expertise.
