Hi
I don't do New Year's Resolutions.
They're not bad, I just prefer to tackle problems when they pop up. Still though, looking at successes and failures on a year-to-year basis can be incredibly useful, especially when it comes to pushing toward big freelance goals. That's why I'm going to share with you what I consider a very expensive mistake of my 2015.
I started
2015 really focused on culling my client roster. I had one client who'd been particularly difficult and I decided to cut them when we couldn't come to agreement on rates. I lost what could have been $18K in annual income and did it willingly.
Now, that client 100% could have been a bad fit, but I could have navigated our disagreement MUCH better. The mistakes I made there have really pushed me to focus on becoming a better negotiator next
year.
So...what mistakes in your 2015 could inspire your growth in 2015? (Go ahead and reply to this email if you want to share with somebody.)
Megan.
