If you have clients in parts of the world where Christmas and New Years are celebrated this time of year, you’re possibly the last thing on their minds right now particularly if you’re a remote freelancer. This can be a huge problem, especially since the end of the year (and beginning of next) is when businesses start to assess things and position themselves to adjust the way they do business with you.
If you want to
start next year strong, you’ll want to stay on their radar. You’ll want to make sure they view their relationship with you as productive and pleasant…and this is why keeping your clients happy is so important.
As you wind down your year, take some time to set yourself up for a wonderful 2016, and adjust your thoughts to how your clients view your work. To help get you started, I’ve put together
this simple framework for client profiles that you can use on its own, or even integrate into existing systems you have. Take a quick look and see if you can answer each point for your clients. If not, it might be time to
come set some concrete goals
in the forums and work along with everyone else in checking them off.
Gig Search
Here are the links to this week’s job searches! Remember, you can either scroll through as they are or add on a
couple of your keywords to customize your search to
your location or specialty.
Upwork: Higher paying jobs in blog and app marketing, DBA/SQL, cleaning a Wordpress site from hackers, and comedy writing for a bi-weekly vlog.
Indeed: Lots of writing work going on here, with some specialization in dental and finance. Some hits on instructional writing and fraud analysis along with other interesting positions. Some local, some remote.
Monster: More love for writers in R&D, automotive, and grant writing (make sure to include “writer” in your search). Some positions for web developers, network engineers and project management too.
CareerBuilder: Designers are getting the spotlight with UX/UI design, motion graphics design, and traditional graphics design.
