Know Your Clients’ Yearly Value (& jobs for virtual assistants, designers, and writers)

Published: Sun, 12/13/15

Hi

I keep a whiteboard of all my active clients…it helps me see at a glance whether I have any outstanding project work I might be missing and how many balls I’ve got in the air at one time.

Something it also does it force me to take stock of my “roster” from time to time and get a feel for what I’m working with. One thing that the board doesn’t convey well though is monetary value…That’s something I leave for spreadsheets (for a couple of reasons).

I’ve mentioned it before, but knowing how much each client you have brings in on a monthly and yearly basis can change the way you look at freelancing. That’s why I put together this spreadsheet for you to download and fill out.

This week, take a few minutes and focus on just the monetary columns and see what you find. You’ll probably rethink the way you treat one or two of your current clients.

Gig Overview
Here are the links to this week’s job searches…Remember, you can either scroll through as they are or add on a couple of your keywords to customize your search to your location or specialty.

Indeed: Podcast producers, social media videographers (for Weight Watchers), and grant writers are getting some attention this week.

Monster: Monster’s got some interesting stuff going on in visual merchandising, social media associates, and academic freelance writing.

CareerBuilder: Promising positions for a pharma copywriter (in Jersey), production designer, and game design on CareerBuilder this week.

If you find a job you like and need some ideas for that first contact email, remember that your membership gives you access to these subject line templates to help you get started. Have a great week!

P.S. I’ve been seeing SO many mentions of stressed freelancers this month…don’t forget to take some time to step back from the hustle, pat yourself on the back, and take a break. You’ve likely earned it 3x over.
