Becoming a resource that potential and existing freelance clients can't ignore is simple, and it's what this month at BlackFreelance is all about.
Being a freelancer seems to be synonymous with being busy, or at least having to be diligent about managing your time. The flexible and changing life of a freelancer can make it
really easy to put
developing your freelance skills on the backburner and just push through production, invoicing, and all that other freelancing stuff that makes up your days.
I’ll tell you though, that this is a mistake.
Not only does being educated about your specialization mean
easier marketing and better clients, it will also become more of an advantage when clients are choosing between you and competitors.
I was reminded of this just last week when my knowledge about some very specific healthcare topics helped put me at the top of a pool of writing candidates for a really nice blogging gig. You can read a little more about that AND find out some great ways to learn about your freelance world in our newest post,
9 Ways To Educate Yourself On Your Freelance Specialization.
Gig Overview
Your freelance client pipeline should never be dry! Even if you don’t see something that works for you in the summaries, click on these links and add on a
couple of your keywords to customize each search to your location or specialty. Also, remember to help other freelancers out and pass any good prospects on
in the forums, or
in our LinkedIn group.
Upwork: Email management, infographic design, and high-end research are some of what you’ll find this week at Upwork.
Indeed: Writers will want to stop by Indeed since it’s featuring lots of copy editing
and proofreading.
Monster: Monster’s a little weak this week on remote jobs, but it does featurequite a few sales consultant positions.
CareerBuilder: CareerBuilder is keeping it tech with gigs in mobile and digital design, UX/UI, and decent amount of writing.
Thanks as always, and if you haven’t,
remember to
download and fill out your self-assessment…we’ll be circling back around at the end of this quarter to review everything, so make sure you give yourself enough time to see
growth!
Megan.
