Are Your Freelance Clients Getting Your Best, ?

Published: Sun, 01/03/16

Hiya

OK…so the focus this month is one of my favorites and is a great way to kick off our 2016 — because it’s all about getting better at what you do as a freelancer.  This month, we’re going to focus on developing our freelance skills.

I know that can be hard when you’re busy invoicing and doing the work you actually get paid for, but here’s the thing…even a little bit of education can make a HUGE difference in your freelance career. That’s because any time you improve the work you deliver, you increase your potential income, and open up doors to new blocks of clients you may have never considered before.

Goals

If you haven’t had a chance to post your goals this month, come by the forums and let everyone know what you’re working on in January. Need some ideas? Here are a few suggestions…

Beginner
If you don’t already have a specialization, choose a few that might interest you.

Intermediate
Search for and find 3 newsletters or publications that discuss your specialization. Subscribe and review them over the month. At the end of the month, keep what you like, unsubscribe from what you don’t.

Advanced
Choose a book or course in your field and pledge to finish it by the end of the month (if it’s possible)…or finally start brushing up on that skill you’ve been putting off for so long.
