So there’s this burger place near me that’s pretty decent. It’s the standard place that pops up in gentrified neighborhoods…they’ve got 6 kinds of meat, and I swear, a good 30 kinds of relish that you choose to put on your beef/shrimp/lobster/kangaroo burger if you want.
When I first heard about it, it sounded interesting. I could build any combination
I wanted…but then I actually went and tried to do that. Let’s just say I’ve come up with some straight up nasty combinations trying to play menu designer…every time I go I wish they’d have just a couple of suggestions to keep me from making a bleu cheese, scotch bonnet, whiskey garlic burger.
One place that gets this right is Coldstone Creamery…if you’ve never been, it works on a similar concept…a million different possible combinations BUT Coldstone gives you
suggestions — pictures on the walls and a menu that has suggested combinations already put together for you. You can walk in and build whatever you want, or you can take advantage of their ice cream-expertise and try a suggested “packaging” of everything they have to offer.
The changes are really simple (you could pull them off in under an hour) and can completely change the way your site visitors engage with you as a
freelancer.
Hoping your website is working hard to help you out!
