It’s time to let your best clients know what’s up, .

Hi

We’re on to the third week of our challenge…how’re you doing so far?

Weeks 1 and 2 have been pretty simple, so now we’re getting to the meat of things…explaining our value.

Challenge Week 3

If you’ve put together a list of your clients and estimated how much each one brings you in a year, it’s time to start ranking!

You’ve got a couple ways you can do this, but first off, start with cash. You’re running a business and income matters. If somebody’s bringing in good money, they go high on the list.

Still…some clients just aren’t worth it.

Unless you absolutely need a client to get your bills paid…if you don’t enjoy working with them, lower them on your list. I honestly just dropped a client a couple months back that was paying me $2K a month but the stress just wasn’t worth it. It was a tough call, but there are better clients out there who pay (and don’t expect me to sit in on calls on Sat at 10AM…I didn’t even do that when I was employed.)

Once you’ve gotten your list together, go back through and try to think of at least one benefit your work as a freelancer brings their business…does it help them maintain clients by giving them a professional-looking web presence? Does your writing keep their readers engaged and drive leads?

Take some time to think it out and write it down, because next week, we’re going to be reaching out to the clients you love most!

As always, if you want to catch up or need a few tips, you can find that here in the forums.

Megan.

P.S. It might not always feel like it, but you’re an entrepreneur. As a freelancer, if you ever want to expand into other forms of entrepreneurship, you’ve got a head start on other people. This post explains why.
