We’re moving into the last week of this month’s challenge, and it’s my favorite, because it’s the one that directly translates into the stuff that makes clients want to sign up with you.
Challenge Week 4
We’ve been
focusing on skill development so far, but this week is going to be more pure education. That education is going to be specific to your niche.
Whatever industry you specialize in, there’s news, conferences, regulations, and developments happening every…single…day. Staying on top of all that is proof to your clients (and potential clients) that you can help them in ways other freelancers can’t. That’s why this week, we’re going to focus on really building
knowledge of our niche.
For me, that means reading up on some federal healthcare regulations that just got passed. For you? Well, if you’re not sure, pick some of your
keywords and search for news, or find your niche on
this list of trade publications and see what they’re talking about. Next time you’re trying to sign a new client or upsell an existing one, make sure to drop a few terms and let them know
you know what’s up. You might even want to tweet about it a little.
