I just got wind that HubSpot, a leader in inbound marketing and sales for businesses, is kicking off their content marketing certification program. 

I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it (depending on the cost and what they cover). Going through it with other BlackFreelancers is a great way to stay accountable (which I honestly have a hard time with with these programs.) We could set up a forum just for the classes.

I've done CopyBlogger's Authority certification and it was huge in launching my career as a content strategy consultant, as well as promoting my own freelance business in a way where I do much less marketing by hand now. HubSpot is probably the next step for me, since so many of my higher-paying clients use the platform and the badge is widely recognized. (The same is likely true in your niche and is probably even a good starting place.)
