$750 a month?!

Hi

About once a year, I decide to really invest in my freelance business.

Yeah, I've got the smaller subscriptions that challenge me and that I'll occasionally pay for, but sometimes, especially when I'm looking to make big changes, I'll consider putting out a bit more.

Since I'm trying to establish habits that will help me double my income this year, I decided to check out the formal course at DoubleYourFreelancing. I've listened to their podcast for a while now and they give good advice, so when I got the invitation to join their next class, I was like "Cool...when does it start and how much?"

I got an email back that said "$8100, or $750 a month." I deleted the email before I could think straight. I was honestly braced for around $200/month.

Now look. I believe in paying for value. I believe that I could even get my money's worth out of that, especially if I really did double my income. Ultimately though, I decided it just wasn't right for me, right now. That level of financial commitment was too much (I'm still rebuilding savings and knocking out a bit of debt), and I still had a lot of their free resources to work through. On top of that, any kind of coaching program like that can be a little stressful, and I'm still getting settled with a couple of clients.

Maybe I'll check it out near the end of the year (if it's open), maybe not, but today, I'm recognizing it's not the best fit for me.

Megan.
