Last week, we talked about getting started on developing a skill that will help you earn more. This week I want to tell you not to wait to let the world know.
If you’re like me (and my current Hubspot certification that I keep putting off), the time between starting to learn a skill and actually completing the course might be pretty long. So what can you do today to let potential clients know that
you’re doing work that will make them excited to hire you?
You talk early and you talk honestly.
On my profiles and website, I keep a “Current Projects” section. That’s where I put any books I’m reading, courses I’m working through, or certifications I haven’t’ quite completed. If you don’t want to dedicate an entire section, a simple statement like “currently pursuing a HubSpot inbound marketing certification” under your qualifications
communicates a lot — It tells your visitors not only that you’re on top of your work as a freelancer, but also that you’re growing in a direction that can help them build their business. (You’d be surprised how many people just want to see that you take your work seriously.)
So the second you start a course or crack a book, put the word out there and start taking credit for everything you do for your
business.
Megan.

keep seeing Shopify jobs popping up and would love to see some people taking advantage of this niche.
