Websites can be AMAZING for your freelance business once you get
them set up…they make it easier to showcase your work, look impressive to potential clients (you can build trust and charge more), and can even work on their own to bring in business while you sleep.
Getting one started (not to mention getting one working at its best) though, can be challenging. That’s why this Website Month, we’re going to spend some time looking at different freelancers’ websites. (If you’d like yours featured, pass it
on!)
We’re going to start things off with writer, Amber Ogden.
What’s Great About Amber’s Site
What I love most about this site is how straightforward it is. I don’t have to do more than scroll and click once to find out anything I need to know about
Amber.
Right there above the fold, I can see…
- What she does (she’s a writer)
- How to view her portfolio (easy menu on the left)
- How to contact her
(CRUCIAL)
- How to connect on social
Additionally, her experience is listed clearly and she makes very good use of her niches’
keywords and
credentials.
To get a better look at it, go through Amber’s site as if you were looking for a writer…where do you find yourself clicking? What do you look for? What makes you want to learn more? As you answer those questions, think of your own site and what you can do to make your website experience best for your prospects.
Megan.
P.S. Here are the Academy resources that you’ll want to check out
this month…
