I’ve said it before, but most of my clients? I
really think one of the biggest reasons they work with me is that we speak the same language.
That’s not a random guess either. Pretty often during our initial conversations they flat out tell me…“You obviously know what you’re doing.” Or “You’re obviously up on what’s going on in the industry.”
That’s not accidental, and it’s not like I’ve got decades of experience in my skillset.
My blog might not be active (I decided
the work I put into it wasn’t worth it, so I backed off some and made it evergreen-ish), but it’s full of writing on news in the industry, what my work as a freelancer means in my niche, and tips for anyone visiting.
I take the time to demonstrate that I’m dedicated to my niche, and those are the things people read before they talk to me. Those are the pieces of content that do the work of establishing trust without me lifting a finger after they’re
written.
That’s how you want your content to work for you, so don’t be shy about even simple pieces like offering your opinion on news in your niche, or explaining why what you do can be valuable to your clients.
Simple work like that can go a long way in moving prospects through your sales funnel and getting your content marketing machine working hard for
you.
