Content Marketing Wednesday: Fall in Love with Metrics

Content marketing is kinda pointless if you don’t measure your results. If you don’t know what’s going on, you have no idea what direction your content creation should head in.

Measurement doesn’t have to be complicated though...every decent marketing automation tool comes with some sort of report or feedback that gives you quantitative insight into what your marketing’s doing for you.

Keep in mind that you have to do something with those numbers. Reading them isn’t enough…you have to respond by focusing where you see results, refining, and testing.

Just remember to keep it simple and start slow. My favorite place to start is with website analytics (I like Google Analytics and Stat Counter). 

Just checking in, even once a week, to see how people move through your site is really valuable in understanding what needs really drive your freelance prospects.
