One of the core values here at BlackFreelance is finding balance
between income and peace, which is why twice a year, we take the time to really look at what our businesses are doing for us.
I know it can be hard to remember to fill out the Self Assessment (I just realized I missed mine for the last 2 quarters!!) so this month, we’re going to walk through the questions here.
I can’t encourage it enough though…fill your answers out
here in your own Self Assessment to give yourself the benefit of long-term insight into how you’re growing as a freelancer. (I’m seriously kicking myself because I missed recording real-time insights from some great clients and changes in my business.)
General Freelancing
We’re going to start
things off with an overview of your freelance business. If you can’t answer any of the questions right this second (like if you’re new to freelancing) no problem! Do what you can.
- What services do you provide as a freelancer?
- Who do you provide them to? (Who are your clients?)
- What problems do you specialize in solving?
- How do you get clients? (cold contacts, referrals, your
website, bidding sites, etc.) Which method is working best?
- What are you in the process of learning/improving on?
These might seem static, but I’m looking back across the last 2 years and my answers really have changed! Take some time to write yours out and see what kind of growth you’ve experienced in the last 6
months.
