Even the best job can kill.
From
stress, poor eating habits, and
even just sitting too much, around the world, too many of us are suffering from a burden from our jobs that even a great paycheck can’t make up for. (In Japan, there’s even a specific word for “
death from overwork”.)
That said, I’m not gonna sit here and tell you that freelancing is a magic solution to that problem. I’ve heard of plenty of freelancers who work as much, if not more than they did when employed.
All that though, is why your well-being as a freelancer should be a priority. That’s why this week, we’re going to take a look at how well you’re doing and how your business is contributing to your life.
Your
Well-Being
This week might seem fluffy, but take your time with this one. The whole point of this is to build a freelance business that improves your life. Even if you’re getting over some bumps, down periods and valleys (which are COMPLETELY normal), overall, you should see things getting better.
Be VERY honest about these answers. It’s easy to get caught up in entrepreneur “positivity”, but there’s no room for that here. You’re going to look
back on these results in a few months (make sure to fill them out
in your Self-Assessment) and you want to most accurate reflection possible.
What makes you most proud of your business right now? (Even if it’s just starting…congratulate yourself!)
How are
you feeling about your life in general?
How would you rate your financial health? Why?
How would you rate your social health? Why?
How would you rate your physical well being? Why?
How would you rate your emotional and spiritual well-being? Why?
This is the last newsletter for
September…if you’ve had any interesting revelations over the past month, let me know! Everything you share with me helps make BlackFreelance a better place.
