If you’re not used to business writing, this one’s easy to
forget (or conveniently ignore), but you should always have a call to action (CTA).
When I say “always”, I mean at least one, preferably two overt requests for your reader to do. Ask them to send a message, read a blog, download a whitepaper or fill out a form.
Content marketing is not the time to be subtle.
You’re trying to drive business and sometimes that requires a nudge. (People won’t just take
action and give you business because you were polite.) At first it might feel too direct (especially if you come from a blogging background), but eventually you’ll start to enjoy it and even see it as a challenge.
