This week is all about that always-looming speed bump in business…fear.
First, let’s just get it out of the way…it’s normal. Even super-experienced business people who’ve built businesses bigger than they’ve dreamed run into challenges that have them scared and unsettled again. The only difference? After a few rounds with fear, they’ve got a bunch of tools and tricks to deal
with it. That’s what we’re going to work on this week, especially if you’re thinking…
I’m scared to start my website.
I’ve got a theory about the fear that crops up early in the freelance game.
My first year I was scared of all kinds of things, but one thing helped wipe it out…and that’s accepting that I provided a service that was valuable to my clients and one that they found helpful.
Think about it…If you know you’ve got water and someone’s house is on fire, you’re not going to be timid about walking up to them and offering it. Why would you be? You’re confident that that bucket of water you’ve got in your hand solves their problem and gets them on track to the goal (a not-burning house) they’re working toward.
So this week I want you to sit down with this post on value and let me know which one of the four categories you want to highlight first on your website.
I mean that now…this is an exercise that can make or break your freelance career, so take 5 minutes it’ll take to read the post and reply to this email. You owe it to yourself.
Talk to you soon!
