Hey ,
It’s way too easy to get stuck in a freelance skill rut.
If you’ve had the same clients for a while who’ve
been asking for the same services for just as long, you’re probably super-comfortable, but also super-missing-out on shifts in the skills that will keep your future prospects’ attention.
You might be out here on your own, but there are some signs that you might be falling behind and jeopardizing your future business opportunities. One of the big ones?
Other Freelancers Are Offering More
I’m not talking about
random freelancers. I’m talking about other independent workers who are in your same skillset and probably even one of your niches.
For example, if you’re a graphic
designer and you’re focused on logos and case study design, but you pop over to a couple of other designers’ websites and see they’re offering infographic design now too? It might be time to step your game up.
That step doesn’t have to be huge, and trust, I’m not talking about mimicking every last service someone else is offering, but sometimes your “competition” drops clues.
