I am…honestly proud of myself as a freelancer. I probably wouldn’t know that if I weren’t tracking my progress.
There’s SO much going on in freelancing that it’s easy to miss your growth, which is why Academy members, me included, do a self-assessment twice a year.
I just finished mine up and decided to take a look back in a few categories. What stood out most this time, is where I get my work. Look at how it’s progressed…
- Bidding sites, cold contacts
- Pro bidding sites, SEO/my website
- Cold leads, Copyblogger Authority profile, Online Search, LinkedIn, Network
- Cold contacting, Skyword, Referrals, Return business
- Platforms like
Skyword, Contently, and nDash have risen to the top.
- The platforms are doing well still…about $2-3K a month, but I just started a
new retainer with a specialized agency. Warm lead prospecting is also leading to longer-term relationships.
That’s my progress over two years.
You can see that in just two years, bidding sites basically fell off my major source of business list. That’s 100% because I’ve completely changed the way I prospect.
That’s a super encouraging sign that I’m maturing in my business and huge ego boost for me.
If you can’t think of any of your own long-term
growth that makes you smile and want to treat yourself, it might be time to start tracking your progress.
