Hi
My freelance career got off to a strong start and relatively quickly. A few months in, and I was getting paid $400 for 800 word blog posts. I thought I was set.
That's why when about 6 months later, I found myself digging into my savings, I started to wonder if I could really make it.
I went through that process a couple of times, each time learning crucial lessons about marketing, production, taxes, pricing, client quality, and not making decisions based on fear.
Each time, I needed something to dig me out, and each time, it was having people around who were doing the same thing (community), and a reminder of why I never wanted to live at the mercy of an employer again (motivation).
If you don't have tangible answer to those things yourself, you need to
continually dig into community
(like this one or one centered on your skill set...probably both), and choose a physical reminder of why you're doing all this in the first place.
