Late happens.
I know some people are ok with it, but me? It makes me a little queasy. It’s even worse when it’s with client work.
What I’ve forced myself to do though, is be honest, and be proactive.
I’ve had to start paying attention to when I’m overloaded and when things start to back up…and I’ve started notifying my clients ahead of time.
I have yet to have anyone react negatively. Matter of fact, most of the time I’ve gotten a “thank you” in reply.
Getting in front of a potentially missed deadline is one of the best things you can do to establish trust, and let your clients know that they’re building a relationship with a responsible and trustworthy partner.
