I swear organization is half the battle for freelancers.
Being organized (or not) can make a huge difference in your productivity — which means it can have a massive impact on your income. That makes project management tools a smart investment.
I fought them for a while myself. They seemed like extra work, but eventually I realized they not only helped me keep things straight. I also felt less pressure to hold everything in my head.
Get to Know Project Management Tools
Some people swear by Asana. Others like Zoho. I like MeisterTask (kinda).
Personally, it’s been challenging for me to find a tool that’s worked with all my clients, since they like their own tools (mostly BaseCamp and Google Sheets).
I’ve defaulted to a combination of software and simple lists, but that’s because I’m doing what works for me, my clients, and my business — and that’s what matters.
There’s always a shiny new tool out there, especially in the project management space, so know what you want a tool to do for you and look for that before anything else.
