You know what a lot of content marketers don’t wanna talk about?
The fact that sometimes, you have to may for marketing.
Sometimes even your best, funniest content won’t automatically go viral. Sometimes the people who need to see it just aren’t in those groups or aren’t searching for answers.
When that’s the case? You invest in paid marketing.
Me? Now that I know my niche and know where to find the people I work with, I keep a paid campaign running on LinkedIn (especially when I write something that I know really helps people solve a problem). I spend maybe $100-$200 a month to reach a couple hundred people. For a 1-person business, that’s very reasonable.
So if you’re having a hard time getting your content to catch on, set aside a few dollars ($50 is decent starting point) and check out a couple options like Google ads and LinkedIn sponsored InMail. You’ll probably learn a lot.
