Earlier this week I was on the boards talking about how I added a bunch of remote and tele-related companies to my CRM (to adjust for the pandemic). And I just have to say…
I’m in love with my CRM.
I know it’s just a “customer relationship management” system, but it’s so much more. It saves my mental health.
I’ve looked at all the manual follow-up systems…every 2 months, weekly, separate systems for warm and cool leads, every 3 days unless the month has an R in it, and you know what?
It’s too much for me.
I have enough to think about running my freelance business to be trying to run some complex system off a spreadsheet. Plus, I have yet to see one that takes into account the particular culture of a niche or an individual clients’ preferences.
That’s why I let software do the work.
I use Streak. I’ve kept with it (over Insightly) mostly because it’s so easy to visually check in and see who’s hot, who’s cold, and who hasn’t been touched in a while. It only works with Gmail and might not be your thing, but there are a bunch out there.
If you’re still using a spreadsheet (and Word doc like I was), I’m gonna encourage you to check it out. That might keep working for you, but you owe it to yourself to try a little automation.
